Nursery Uniform
At Fig Tree Nursery, we encourage children to wear simple, comfortable, and practical clothes that allow them to participate confidently in all aspects of nursery life, from creative play and outdoor learning to physical activities and messy play.
Children should wear suitable clothing and comfortable footwear that enable them to move freely and safely throughout the day. As outdoor learning is an important part of our curriculum, we recommend that children come dressed appropriately for the weather, with a coat, hat, or sun hat as required.
To help your child feel comfortable and ready to explore, please pack the following:
- Spare Clothes: Creative play can be messy, so an extra set of clothes is essential.
- Outdoor Wear: A coat and wellies for outdoor fun.
- Summer Gear: Sun protection cream, a water bottle, and a sun hat for sunny days.
- Healthy Lunch: If your child isn’t joining the lunch club, pack a nutritious lunch (no crisps, chocolates, or sugary drinks, please).
- Nappies and Wipes: If needed (flushable wipes preferred).
- Book Bag: Available for Reception children at £8.00 from the nursery office.
- Pro Tip: Please label all items with your child’s full name to avoid mix-ups.
Reception children are required to wear the official Fig Tree Nursery uniform, helping to foster a sense of belonging and preparing them for the transition to primary school. Full details of the Reception uniform, including where it can be purchased, are available from the nursery office.
