Mrs Kulsoom - Nursery Manager
I am Mrs Kulsoom, the Nursery Manager at Fig Tree Nursery.
Qualifications and Experience
I hold an MA in Education and a Level 5 qualification in Health and Social Care. I have worked as a Nursery Manager for the past 11 years and have also had the opportunity to support the Headteacher in the role of Deputy Head . Through my experience in education and early years, I have developed a strong passion for supporting children’s learning, development and wellbeing.
Favourite Subject and Why
My favourite subject is Science because I love discovering how and why things work. I enjoy encouraging children to be curious, ask questions and explore the world around them.
Why I Chose to Work in Education
I chose to work in education because I believe the early years are such an important foundation for a child’s future. I also feel strongly about helping children develop positive character and values from an early age. I believe that tarbiyah, nurturing and developing the whole child is an important part of education, and I love seeing children grow not only academically but also socially, emotionally and spiritually.
Favourite Children’s Book
One of my favourite children’s books is The Very Hungry Caterpillar because it is simple, engaging and provides so many opportunities for children to learn about numbers, days of the week, food, nature and change.
Hobbies or an Interesting Fact
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, researching and exploring new places. I am naturally curious and love learning new things. An interesting fact about me is that I have met Nelson Mandela!
What I’m Looking Forward to This Year
I am looking forward to seeing all of our children progress, grow in confidence and achieve their individual milestones. It is incredibly rewarding to look back at where each child started and see how far they have come.
