Curriculum
School Curriculum
We offer a broad and ambitious curriculum, which has been acknowledged by OFSTED. We follow the National Curriculum set out by the Department of Education. Our curriculum is broad, engaging, exciting and interesting. The curriculum is designed to challenge all learners including disadvantaged and SEND learners.
Where schemes have been used, we have made adaptations within school to ensure they are fit for purpose for our pupils and ensure cross curricular links are made with use of Islamic stories, Quranic verses and Hadith (sayings of the Prophet Muhammad).
Our timetable is enhanced through daily Quran recitation, teaching of Islamic studies and the Arabic language. Our PSHE curriculum includes RSE, which is based on an Islamic narrative making reference to Quran and Sunnah. Whilst promoting Islamic values and virtues, and teaching in accordance with Islamic principles, we will ensure that pupils are offered a balanced programme by providing an RSE curriculum that offers a range of viewpoints on issues.
Reading is a priority across the school because we recognise that reading is the fundamental means for children to access the whole curriculum and an essential requirement in life. We promote reading for pleasure through our Book Club, the use of a school library, reading mornings, taking part in World Book Day, Roald Dahl Day and much more.
Governors, staff and pupils work together to ensure that our curriculum provides the skills, knowledge and attributes our children will need in order to flourish in the 21st century.
