Every Friday morning (8:20-8:50) at Figtree Primary School, the school offers opportunities for parents to support their children through parents reading.
Research has typically found that shared reading experiences are highly beneficial for young people. Benefits of shared reading include facilitating enriched language exposure, fostering the development of listening skills, spelling, reading comprehension and vocabulary, and establishing essential foundation literacy skills. They are also valued as a shared social opportunity between parents and their children to foster positive attitudes toward reading.
We would love to see as many parents or carers at either or both sessions every week, please come and join us.
